Girl Scout Day Camp is open to girls grades 1st through 12th, fall 2013.

Day camp occurs completely outdoors so you must be tolerant of the weather. Lunches are brought from home every day.

Can we meetour unit leaders before camp?  YES - there will be an open house (pre-camp unit meeting) on June 22, 2013. Your daughter will meet her unit leaders and you will receive important information. Please plan to attend.

Can I sign up with a friend?  Yes - If your friend is the same grade level& age, fill in her name in the space for “Buddy” on the registration form.Only one buddy request can be accommodated and both campers must request each other. To ensure buddy placement, applications can be mailed in the same envelope with full payment. Every effort will be made to place two buddies together in the same unit; however, at various times during camp, girls may be partnered with other girls in the unit for some activities. Make new friends!

New for 2013: Extended day for campers: carpool starts at 8 a.m. and camp activities run from 8:30-4:30. Parents who need to pick up campers later can use the “after camp”option for an additional $10 and pick up the daughter by 5:30 p.m.

**Also parents can take advantage of our staggered payment plan. Send your $20 deposit with your registration to save your space. $35 will be due on or before April 1st ($47-non-GSs) with the balance of $55 due by June 15th. **

Is financial assistance available?  Financial Assistance may be available for half the camp fee from Council for currently registered Girl Scouts. Mail a $20 non-refundable deposit with a completed Financial Assistance application and your completed registration form before April 1st to be considered.Parents/guardians will be responsible for paying the balance of the fee after Financial Assistance has been applied by June 15th.

Are there programs for Cadette, Senior and Ambassador Girl Scouts?  YES, again!
Girls in the 6th and 7th grade (fall 2013) have a special unit. They may attend the Wed. late night program with extended activities. They’ll learn leadership skills and broaden outdoor living skills. Girls in the 8th grade or older (fall 2013) may serve as Camp Aides and assist with younger girls during day camp if they complete the Girl Scout leadership requirements and attend all New Rock training's prior to day camp. This program can provide girls with leadership and service hours needed forwards. For more information about Girl Scout Leadership requirements contact Lisa Wust at lwust@gsgatl.org.

When will we find out if we got into camp?  The total number of campers accepted is determined by the number of adults who volunteer for day camp. Confirmations will be sent after registrations have been processed and minimum capacity has been reached, usually in the beginning of May. If you are placed on the wait list, you’ll be notified and if a space becomes available you will be contacted as soon as possible. Please note that cancellations often happen just a few days before camp.

DayCamp Adult Volunteers are NEEDED… you can volunteer to help at your daughter’s Day Camp!
Adult volunteers do not need to be Girl Scout leaders but must become registered Girl Scouts with volunteer approval. .. Full-week adult volunteers will receive a discount on their children’s registration/s. For volunteers ONLY,we’ll offer a boys unit for K through rising 7th grade and a preschool unit for potty trained children between the ages of 3-5.  If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Terry as soon as possible or check the volunteer box on the registration form and we’ll send you a Day Camp Volunteer Application and Agreement form.
